I'm not sure many people know this, but this is Isa's first year.
While I had a small clothing line selling in a few boutiques in Portland a few years ago, I was not able to continue it for a number of reasons. So starting Isa, my mainly wedding line, was a big leap into the unknown, as is starting any business of course.
I have learned, and am still learning a lot, and I am so grateful to all the wonderful women I have been fortunate enough to make a gown or other creation for. They have been such a huge blessing and I can honestly say, I've really liked all of them.
In creating and running my business, I have been a huge fan of Oregon Bride Magazine, for their creative and professional shoots to very helpful guides to vendors and ideas. Being that it is my first year in business, I figured one day it would be amazing to be featured in their magazine or even (crazy enough) to be listed in their "Best of", but of course, I figured that would be a couple years away.
However, this March I received an email saying Isa was one of the three designers chosen in the "Best Indie Designer" category, and could they ask me a few questions. !!!?!! Um, yes!
While I have no idea if I'll win, I am so humbled and honored to be seen by not just them but my local designer peers and friends. Thank you to all who voted and who have supported Isa thus far, it means more than words can say to be able to do what I love and be encouraged to keep going and creating.
